Early enquiries made to melanoma patients revealed that many melanoma patients were motivated to take part in a study such as MyMelanoma and that an inclusive approach was required. There is a scientific need non-the-less to avoid bias in data collection so that recruitment which was uncontrolled is to be avoided. It was therefore agreed that MyMelanoma would value involvement from any melanoma patient diagnosed in the 5 years before the study goes live. The intent is then to use on-line triage to direct the participant towards a list of questions most relevant to MyMelanoma aims.
